A Welcome from Emcee Skawla

Paused

“Hey now. It’s me again — Coffy Town’s resident water girl. Welcome to the Black Stone Maze. If you’re at Level One, no Coffy Town knowledge is needed, hun. The Matching Game is your qualifier. Prove you’re not a spy, not a bot, not a Coffy Town Prowler. All in The Writer’s plot — or an unvetted settler, digging for winnings meant for citizens. Become one… a citizen, that is. Show you belong in the Maze, headed to the next phase, competing for the Coffy Town Player’s Cup. You can even help us develop — that’s what’s up. Level One is your qualifier. Flip a stone with a click. Choose another. You’re trying to match the pictures. If they match, you score. Bags pay Coffy Coins. Stack ’em up for in‑world assets, real‑world gifts, and Coffy Town Show Tickets. If they don’t match, try to remember. Make the image stick. Ready? Come on. We’re about to test your memory real quick.”

FOUND TREASURES

Paused

“Treasures found behind stones carry trade‑in value. But beware — they can be claimed by other players, stolen outright, or frozen if you’ve been accused of wrongdoing. And if Detective Jimmy finds you guilty? Gone. Found treasures fade gradually over thirty days, but they begin restoring when you log back in. After thirty days, if no one sees you in Coffy Town — we will ask around — they’re lost entirely, reappearing where you first found them, waiting for a more active player to claim. Assets you purchase, and daily Coffy Coins you earn, are safe from the rot of inertia. Do something. Make a post, read a book, watch a video. Look around for the freebox. Find something. Something always remains to restore fading treasures. Even if you’ve done wrong, or wrongly accused someone, in Coffy Town you can pay reparations. Justice here is layered, uniquely altered for every player, based on your behavior — memory, truth, survival. Play it smart. Or watch your treasures slip away.”

TIPS, SECRETS & LIES

Paused

“Tips, rumors, secrets and lies. We try to hold ourselves to the highest standards here… but we’re still fighting for our rights. Hey. People lie. You’ll see. Sometimes I think Detective Jimmy’s decisions rest on who told the lie best. He’s got deadlines, you know. Now‑a‑days, anyway. Never mind that my parents are gone. In Coffy Town, justice isn’t always swift or clean. CoffyTown.com is an immersive, ongoing game — black noir mysteries, built on the writer‑solid Coffy Town logic, sometimes thwarted by logical fallacies, created by scandalous players disrupting the lore with lies and rumors. I’m just saying, not giving you a warning. Some cases are dropped, once community‑solved with blanket parties. When found items are in dispute — take for instance another player claims their asset was not placed in the free box by themselves — a public auction is convened when ownership of a found item can’t be determined. Intimate matters and case escalations are handled by Dawn of Time and her Elderberries in the Vine. There are surprises and prizes, but also unexpected tragedies can befall you. Be careful, watch your step, and pay attention. Yes… but stay prepared for— Snitches. They don’t always get stitches. Sometimes they walk away with your assets. [Noir music]”

SNITCHING & REPARATIONS

Snitching & Reparations — recording coming soon

“Coffy Town has a Snitch Line, honey — and it’s not a joke. Head over to Game Valley and Detective Jimmy will take four kinds of word: Accuse, Snitch, Tell a Secret, or Start a Rumor. File it signed or keep it anonymous. Either way, Jimmy gives you a case number and answers in his own voice. Filed. Under review. Closed. That’s how the Fathers of the Guard move. Even if you did wrong — or you wrongly accused somebody — you can pay reparations here. Justice is layered, memory is evidence, and truth is survival. Play it smart, or watch your treasures slip away.”
