About HIP Inc.

The Tower Was Built From Stories.

Holter Intellectual Property, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) cultural engine — a publishing house, a storyworld, a stage, and a classroom, all connected by the HIP IP Tower.

The Origin

From poets on stage to a tower of stories.

HIP Inc. grew from the lineage of The Punany Poets — founder Jessica Holter's long-running performance company that married literary craft to public health, healing, and truth-telling. The nonprofit was built to give that work a permanent home, infrastructure, and a shared universe.

Today HIP Inc. develops narrative technology, original storyworlds, and community-centered creative programs — from Coffy Town to the HIP Soul Festival Workshop. Every floor of the Tower is a different way of putting stories to work in the world.

"Community is our methodology. Story is our infrastructure."

HIP Soul Fest — A Community Event for the City of Hampton, GA

HIP Soul Fest is a curated musical and theatrical event that supports communities while offering workforce development to young adults, recent college graduates, and recently emancipated foster youth. We invite each community to come together for family fun, great music, and cultural celebration — while supporting local businesses and enjoying quality entertainment.

The inaugural event was generously sponsored by D'Wayne Wiggins, the City of Hampton, and Main Street. D'Wayne — a beloved music producer and dear friend — mentored the young adults, provided the land for rehearsals, and personally visited Mayor Tarpley to help secure Hampton's endorsement of the Festival Workshop and main event.

In Memoriam

D'Wayne Wiggins

February 14, 1961 — March 7, 2025

The late, great D'Wayne Wiggins was a vessel for musical healing — a man who lived life to the fullest and left the sound of a generation better than he found it. We mourn his passing and honor his legacy.

In his memory, we will gather on Saturday, October 18 at Love in the Upper Room — a Sweetest Day Cabaret featuring a soulful mix of Soul, Blues, Pop, Opera, and Gospel, alongside the stunning debut of the new cast of Coffy Box Rom~Com. A celebration of a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.
